Sunday School

During the month of February each of the classes will participate in a Penny War! The proceeds of the Penny War will go to Mission Support (formerly known as Benevolence) through the ELCA of which our church is a member. On January 29^th, the Sunday School kids will learn more about what Mission Support does throughout the world. Please watch for handouts telling more about Mission Support & class totals in the Penny Jars. Any parents willing to help by counting the pennies for their child’s class each week that would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Kelly or Dina.

 

February 12^th—Wear Red or Pink in celebration of Valentine’s Day

 

The 3^rd graders are the spotlight class for the month of February…please check out the board in Common Grounds to get to know these amazing kids better.

 

We are looking for anyone with the gift of music to help lead the kiddos in music during the 1^st 10 minutes of Sunday School each week. Jay Merrill is leading the kids currently & he’d love to have someone to help him lead or to lead the kids if he needs to be away. Please contact Kelly or Dina if you’d like more information, or if you’re interested in helping out.

 

 Reminders:

1^st Communion: Starting in March, any 2^nd graders or youth 2^nd grade & up, who wish to have 1^st communion instruction will have this opportunity (more information to follow). 1^st Communion will be on Maundy Thursday, April 5^th, 2012.

 

Snacks: There are snack sign-up sheets outside of each classroom. Families can sign up to bring a snack @ anytime by filling in their name on the sheet.

 

Join anytime: If you, or someone you know would like to join Sunday School, kids can enroll at anytime during the year. Just contact one of the Co-Coordinators, the church office, or come on Sunday morning to start & tell the teacher you are new. Sunday School is from 9:10-10:10 Sunday mornings.
