Anchored in God's word, love and grace, we are disciples called to share the Good News.

Small Groups

An Activity for Everyone

(this page is always changing -- new items are added all the time. Check back frequently for updates.)

At All Saints, there is an event or a group for almost every member of our congregation. Don't see anything that interests you? Let us know as new groups are forming all the time.  Here is a short presentation on some things you might be interested in.

Aluminum Can Corral is open for business
We recycle aluminum cans. Please bring your aluminum cans to church. The can corral is located next to the garage. Proceeds from the fund are used for various charitable causes.

 Collecting Calendars
The Oshkosh Correctional Institution gives calendars to each of the inmates and are looking for donations of 2010 calendars. If you have any extra calendars, please bring them to church and put them in the calendar container in the narthex. Thank you!

Craft & Chat
Two nights a month (usually the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays) a group of folks get together to work on a variety of crafts:  knitting, crochet, quilting, scrapbooking, needlepunch, etc, etc, etc.  Anything goes and we are always looking for new ideas, new crafts and new people -- young, old, male or female. And most importantly, we chat -- we share our prayers, our concerns, and just support each other as my ministering with an open ear.   The patterns that we use can be found by clicking on this link.

Eat with Eight
This September we begin our third year of Eat With Eight. It has been a great way to spend time outside of church eating delicious food and making new friends. Twenty or so different couples have participated in these small groups so far. New friendships have been formed, old friendships have been renewed and current friendships have been strengthened. We will begin a new round of dinner get-togethers in October. Sign up on the poster in the Common Grounds or call Nancy Austen (303-2289 or nomads45@charter.net) with any questions you might have. Hope you can join us for dinner in October!

Festival Food Receipts
Please bring your festival food receipts to church. There is a collection box on the counter in the narthex. Festival donates 1% of the receipts back to All Saints.

Fill the Cart
Yes, we have a grocery cart in our narthex. Please bring non-perishable food items to help us fill the cart. When it is full, the food will be taken to a local food pantry.

Flowers for our Altar
Flowers can be purchased to help beautify our altar. They can be in honor or memory of someone or something. The cost is $25. Please sign your name on the calendar in the narthex and fill out a flower offering envelope. We will take care of ordering the flowers. You are welcome to take home the boquet after the completion of the 2nd worship service. Many families have taken them to hospitals or loved ones who are shut-ins and have shared the Sunday worship experience with those individuals.

Library
We are going to try to highlight our new arrivals by displaying them on the top shelf of the bookcases. That way you won’t have to sort through the other books.  So continue to watch the library for new additions. Once again it is great when the congregation gives the library their books, especially books that they have enjoyed and know that the rest of the congregation would like them. So check out the Library now that school is in and the fall is a good time to enjoy a good book.

Prayer Shawls
Each confirmand will receive a prayer shawl made especially for them by a member of All Saints.   Confirmation Sunday is May 15, 2011. The shawls should be red or white.   We also have our Wrapped in God’s love Ministry -- Prayer shawls are designed to give comfort and remind those in need that someone is praying for them and that God’s care is close at hand. They also can be a prayer tool for the person who receives a shawl. Perhaps you know someone who is ill, or lonely or just needs a reminder that they are loved by God. Please take one and give it to them along with a prayer sheet. The shawls can be found in the back of the sanctuary. If you would like to be a part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry by knitting, crocheting or donating yarn, please contact Deb Sieth in the church office at 426-4142.    The patterns that we use can be found by clicking on this link.

Soup Suppers
During Lent, soup is served before the Wednesday Night Service starting at 5:30 pm. This begins the week after Ash Wednesday and continues for 5 weeks. Help is needed to make the soup, serve, set-up, bring treats or break and clean-up. A large crock pot or roaster full of soup is needed. If necessary, bring the soup to the church the day before or early in the day of the supper so the set-up group can make sure it is hot in time for the meal. Volunteers are needed to a fill any of the positions and sign up sheets will be available before Ash Wednesday.

Visitor Outreach Ministry:
Our visitor outreach ministry is a way to thank first-time visitors for worshiping with us. Visitor Outreach volunteers drop off packets with devotions and information about All Saints to our first-time visitors. It gives us a chance to make a quick introduction, thank them for visiting, ask if they have any questions and to invite them back again. Please sign-up on the poster in Common Grounds or call Deb Sieth at 426-4142 to volunteer.
